Consequences of Sleep Deprivation
An individual may be deprived of sleep on a short term basis or
it may be a chronic condition. Studies have shown that long term sleep
deprivation is fatal to lab animals. Lack of sleep has physiological,
emotional and psychological effect on the body. Sleep deprivation may be
due to many factors including sleep disorders such as insomnia, snoring,
sleep apnea, and restless leg syndrome, among others.
